The U.S. Supreme Court's historic decision this morning to allow married gay and lesbian couples to receive federal benefits under the law was a huge victory for the gay rights movement, a ruling that affects a great number of Connecticut residents and people across the U.S. It's party time.
If you don't feel like celebrating alone, head over to Hartford's Real Art Ways around 5 p.m., where locals will be out in force. Plans include a DJ, food/drink, and general whooping-it-up. The event was organized by CT social action group True Colors, and appears to have been in the works regardless of the SCOTUS outcome.
There's also a Facebook event page to visit.
