CT Science Center

The Connecticut Science Center celebrates its one millionth visitor. (Brian Ambrose photo / August 20, 2012)

At the young age of three years old, the Connecticut Science Center is certainly not short on popularity.  The crowds of people, young and old alike, who turned out on August 14th to help celebrate the one millionth visitor mark demonstrated this enduring popularity.  In addition to beads, balloons and cake pops, Cheryl Chase gave a heartfelt speech to all the young ‘future Nobel Prize winners’ in the crowd, and one fortunate CT Science Member was chosen to represent all members as the one millionth person served.  A homeschooling mom with hundreds of trips to the Science Center under her belt, Jody Gray-Linden deserved this distinction.  In addition to her own family, she has been responsible for introducing dozens of other family groups to the Science Center, which her own children know and love through their almost weekly visits.  Jody and a lucky thirty guests will be spending an upcoming night in the museum, complete with a pizza party catered by the Science Center.  Hartford residents are indeed fortunate to have this LEED-Gold certified institution in our backyard.
