Spicy Food Challenge #2: Lamb Vindaloo from Sitar
For our second Spicy Food Challenge, Austen and I decided to try our hands at an Indian dish known for being spicy: vindaloo. Sitar is a hop, skip and a few jumps away from our office so we took a stroll over to Orange and Grove on this fine, sunny day. We agreed on lamb vindaloo, as lamb isn't shrimp and no one likes chicken. (That's not true. My apologies to chicken.) We ordered our lamb vindaloo and asked for it to be made "as spicy as possible." "Very hot" was our only option beyond regular old "hot," so we hoped that'd be hot enough. We also ordered some raita, which is yogurt with cucumbers and spices, and mango lassis, since they are awesome. Lassis also contain yogurt, and dairy is a proven heat cutter if you fall too deep into the spice hole.
