What qualities do you think a successful bartender should have?
Number one, being nice. It blows me away how many snotty bartenders there are and how they expect good gratuity. I also think that people want to feel special, so remembering their name and what they drink is important. Making delicious cocktails is another important quality. People want to drink something that tastes good, so understanding which ingredients work well together is key.
If these walls could talk, what would they say?
I believe this is actually a safe haven for a lot of customers. If these walls could talk they would say, "welcome to your home."
What's the best drink to order during happy hour?
My first suggestion would be one of our fresh craft beers and that's when it gets interesting. I give samples and let people try our beer. We have several varieties and I explain all of them. It's what I call "a beer journey."
What are some interesting facts about beer?
Beer is both healthier and tastier than any other beverage. It can be more pure and cleaner than water, believe it or not. Beer also has a unique body. All unpasteurized beer has healthy bacteria in it. And finally, there are many different hops and soils. That's why the flavors are so different.
