Christina Crawford's (adopted) mom was actress Joan Crawford. In 1978, she wrote a bestselling expose about her turbulent childhood and her adult relationship with her mother called Mommie Dearest. One of the first tell-all celebrity books, it was later made into a movie starring Faye Dunaway in 1981. This Saturday, Crawford comes to the Edgerton Center for a talk called Surviving Mommie Dearest in which she'll introduce her biopic documentary based on a multimedia play she wrote, show some home movies of her and her mother and then field questions from the audience.
Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield. (203) 374-2777. Sat., Nov. 23, 8 p.m. $10-$25. edgertoncenter.org
