Long Island Sound's native oyster, the Eastern oyster, is crucial for mataining the delicate, underwater ecosystem off the Connecticut coast. As it feeds, it recycles nutrients and cleans the water. And it's delicious too. A new exhibit Oysters, Pearls of Long Island Sound opens this Saturday at the Bruce Museum, filled with interactive displays and specimens of bivalves from all over the world.
