Good to see the "Hive Mind" Advocate article. Yes, that's one of a number of newish work / housing / approvals process things needed if CT is going to have even a glimmer of hope of keeping its young people and starting new businesses. (BTW, I believe Robert and Carol Orr's Bourse, on Chapel, was NH's first coworking space, maybe even Connecticut's first.)
There ought to be a statewide zoning provision which would allow, of right, one ancillary dwelling unit, sized below about 550 sf, on any owner-occupied single family property. That would make inexpensive places for boomerang kids, startup households and, not least important given our aging Boomer population and their parents, a closeby place for caregivers.
Thanks for the focus on unglamorous, but fascinating, reality.
