Rather than sweaty dudes in shiny shirts, La Casona’s nightclub atmosphere is a little more down to earth. The place offers free salsa dancing lessons, for example, which are wisely scheduled just after happy hour -- which lasts three times longer than its name suggests. But the presence of rank amateurs shouldn’t deter the serious bailador or bailadora; two rooms with separate DJ booths offer everything from hip-hop to reggaeton on one side, and more traditional salsa sounds on the other. Owner Marcelo Leone says familiar faces and a friendly staff means you won’t be "just a number" at La Casona.
