Patrick Jean from O Bar

1st) O Bar

The O Bar won this category for its famous O-tinis, but by the time you are reading this there won’t be an O Bar. Not exactly. Bar owner Patrick Jean reinvented one of his other establishments, the one-time Saint Tropez (a lauded French restaurant located right next door) as the more casual Brasserie. He’s looking to pull the same trick, reopening the O Bar as the Bubble Lounge. "The O Bar in Fairfield was eight years old," explains Jean. "There are a lot of new places in Fairfield to compete with and I felt there was a need for a big change. Everyone complained that the [old] space was too small, so we added another bar and a garage door so we can have outdoor seating in the summer." Now, back to those O-tinis. The classic variety contains Absolut citron, sour apple flavoring and Cointreau. The current menu includes six other enticing variations — White Chocolate, French, Banana Crème, Twigs and Berries, Espresso and a Flirt-ini. The menu changes seasonally, with lighter drinks for summer and heavier ones for winter, says Jean, who will continue to offer them at the Bubble Lounge.
