March 3-4: Azalea Festival, Palatka. One of Florida's oldest festivals, enduring for 66 years and surviving WWII, floods and financial disaster. Held in the historic downtown area and Memorial Park. 386-312-6266. www.flazaleafest.com

March 3-4: Amelia Island Garden Show at Central Park, Fernandina Beach. See growers and nurseries from around the state featuring bright and colorful assortments of flowers, trees and palms, orchids, bonsai, shrubs and more. March 9: Moon Over the Mounds, Crystal River. Moonlight tour and interpretation of the Crystal River State Archaeological Site, by archaeologists and park staff. Interpretive guides tell the story of the famous Crystal River Site by torchlight as guests tour though the moon-lit mound complex. March 9-11: Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, Amelia Island. Celebrates classic cars and the people who admire them. Events take place at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Islandm and The Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach. 904-636-0027. www.ameliaconcours.org

March 9-11: Nature Coast Civil War Reenactment, Crystal River. This 15th annual living history reenactment will be held at the Holcim Mine property, seven miles north of Crystal River. Authentic costumes, modern concessions, battle reenactments. Admission. www.crystalriverreenactment.org

March 10: Gate River Run, Jacksonville. Extraordinary 15k run through Downtown Jacksonville and over its bridges, in its 34th year and attracting nearly 20,000 runners and walkers. March 16-18: Lions Seafood Festival, St. Augustine. Great seafood, live music, arts and crafts, family-friendly contests and prizes. Featuring the Americana Roots Idol Competition where bands and musicians can audition for a chance at performing at the event and winning studio recording time. March 17: Wild Azalea Festival, White Springs. Co-hosted by The Nature and Heritage Tourism Center, Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, and the Town of White Springs. A Street Crafts Fair will showcase handmade specialties, and wild azaleas will also be sold. The event will also feature some of Florida's best folk singers, musicians and cloggers, the Annual Little Miss Azalea Contest, and the Suwannee River Duck Race. A variety of food items including barbecue, hamburgers and hot dogs, will be sold throughout the day. Guests can hear music and songs, stroll the streets of White Springs, sample unique items at the crafts fair, buy a wild azalea or a duck for the duck race, or take a horse-drawn wagon ride into Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park on the banks of the famous Suwannee River.
