What is the one thing that has defined your life so far?
Probably the first time I stepped into Henri Bendel in Boston while in college. I was into tie-dye and flannels, which were very cool at the time, but my roommate took me there and it was like a whole new world I hadn't known about. I was in love, and no longer interested in my biology degree.
What's your guilty fashion pleasure?
I think my Norma Kamali for WalMart cocoon sweatshirt. It was a gift.
What is something you have learned this past week?
That you can infuse vodka with any flavor you like in an ISI whipped cream maker. Takes two minutes. So yummy with jalapenos.
What are some top trends you see being embraced by your customers this season?
Silk blouses, pleated skirts, cozy sweaters, and color. Women are loving color right now.
Any secrets to successfully dressing for the holidays?
I love dressing up! Ask anyone. A dress is the simplest solution, but if you are more comfortable in pants there are lots of silk and sequin tops to dress up any black pant. If your event is not too dressy, I love dark jeans and a snug blazer or tux jacket with a silk camisole underneath.
