Favorite movie? Dumb & Dumber
If you could live anywhere else, where would that be? I am living in Sunnyside, Queens but would love to live in Greenwich Village again.
If you could give advice to yourself 10 years ago? Be patient, especially when talking about career and being a musician. At 18, Erik wanted fame and fortune right now.
Favorite part of your job? I don't generally get bored. One night I'll be playing piano at a piano bar, the next night I'll be directing. Right now I play a regular gig one night per week at Don't Tell Mama on West 46th between 8th & 9th Avenues. There are so many aspects of what I do, it is tough to get bored.
Best adventure in recent memory? I just went to Germany for two weeks on a gig. When the gig was over I rented a car and drove around Germany and Austria. I drank a lot of beer.
Your last meal on earth? A good steak. I want that Porterhouse. I'm a food snob right now, but I'd still want the Porterhouse. I did spend some time in Austin and would want barbecue if I were there.
Anything else people should know about you? I have an 11-piece band called the Atomic Funk Project.
