Dreamgirls plays something like a Jersey Boys for a new decade. The musical, which opened in 1981, tells the story of a '60s girl group as they rise to the top and try to keep their heads along the way. With Academy Award nominee Henry Krieger behind the score, the musical has won numerous awards. Now, for the first time, the Ivoryton Playhouse will host Dreamgirls and its acclaimed, international cast, including Sheniqua Denise Trotman (pictured) as Effie. Don't miss this music-lover's musical.
