Olivia Davis' Spectrum in Motion returns to the University of Saint Joseph campus on Friday and Saturday for two evenings of dance and culture. The Hartford-based ensemble, dedicated to "people of color and the American experience," was founded 30 years ago by Davis, who wanted to integrate dance and the arts into everyday life, to tell stories and to keep cultural traditions alive through movement. She succeeded. In addition to annual performances at St. Joe's, you can catch the group at a number of area venues, including Hartford's Asylum Hill Congregational Church and the occasional public school, if you keep your eyes open.
