Hartford Stage Tackles the Life of African-American Classical Singer Roland Hayes

Breath & Imagination dramatizes the life of pioneering African-American classical singer Roland Hayes (1887-1977), who went from singing on a Georgia plantation to wowing European monarchs. Hayes is played by baritone Jubliant Sykes (pictured), who can flit from genre to genre seemingly at will. The show runs until February 9.
