Way to Heaven is a play by written by Juan Mayorga that's loosely based on a real-life visit by the Red Cross to the concentration camp of Theresiandstadt during WWII. The Germans had created a model idyllic village to cover up the atrocities that were actually happening, and some Jewish internees were compelled to act in a play of their own, pretending they were unaware of the holocaust surrounding them. The cast of Way to Heaven features Fairfield University professors and chairs, none of whom are theater professionals. Their students will get to see them acting, outside their element, for a unique educational experience. And the public is welcome, too.
