As local theater companies scramble to prepare their fall season of shows, we find this last week of summer to be an ideal time to check out a play across county lines, like Elm Shakespeare's production of MacBeth, outdoors in New Haven's Edgerton Park where the "Great Birnam wood" doesn't seem so far off. Post-Labor-Day, Fairfield County stages will be heating up en masse, but just for this week let's allow our actors and production teams to have a relaxing, long weekend. (Unless you still haven't seen Harbor at Westport Country Playhouse.)
