Stephen Sondheim Speaks at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Feb. 23
Stephen Sondheim has quite a resume. He wrote the lyrics for smash hit shows like West Side Story and Gypsy, and both the music and lyrics for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Sweeny Todd, to name a few. He's often referred to as the single most influential force in bringing the Broadway musical into the modern age, and the sheer weight of the awards he's won could crush your average mantel. They include the Kennedy Center Honors, the Pulitzer Prize, two Grammys, an Oscar and eight Tonys. And he'll be at the Ridgefield Playhouse Saturday night for a Q&A with journalist Morton Dean that will touch upon many aspects of his remarkable 60-year career.
