Few things evoke a summer day quite like a glass of sangria. Firebox's version is, predictably, quite masterful. Like most popular summertime concoctions, there are authentic, wonderful sangrias, and then ere are sugary and overpriced excuse-to-use-bad-wine sangrias. Firebox's version is most decidedly the former, with nice attention to detail in the simple syrup fruit infusion.
Take note - those of you looking to play hooky from work and enjoy the sunshine - happy hour at Firebox starts at 4 pm. So if you're looking for an excuse to skip out a little early, you could do a lot worse than playing hooky on the Firebox patio and enjoying some sangria and sunshine.
