Day of the Dead Margarita found at La Boca Mexican Restaurant and Cantina
337 Main Street, Middletown
Ingredients: Kah 110 Proof Reposado, Cointreau, Sour Mix, and Chambord
This isn’t your grandparent’s Tex Mex joint. Inspired by the artistic vision of Patrick Ganino, the newly re opened La Boca combines a larger location with some distinctly creepy, modern and wonderful ‘Day of the Dead’ inspired artwork. In compliment to this aesthetic, their signature margarita starts out looking bloody as the Chambord is poured in, but, much like death itself - as manager Matt points out rather philosophically – settles into a rosy afterglow once the drink settles. Despite the powerful 110 proof tequila, this is a very sweet, drinkable concoction. And the pink tinged salt – enhanced by rose grenadine syrup – is the perfect macabre touch to this awesome concoction.
