Self confessed chocoholic and culinary mastermind, Suso – executive chef and owner at Suso Latino Basket – concocted this sweet and tempting mousse because, well, he likes chocolate and he likes pisco. Nothing wrong with that. Although technically a dessert, the chocolate pisco earned a spot in the Liquor Cabinet by packing a solid buzz in semi-solid mousse form. It's true that some desserts feature a note of alcohol, but this is more like a cocktail that happens to have chocolate mousse in the glass. For those not familiar with pisco, think of a more refined grappa. The pairing works in a masterful fashion, as the sweetness of the pisco draws out deep, rich notes in the chocolate, with neither flavor overpowering the other. It's safe to say that chocolate and pisco are best friends, and they owe their relationship to one very clever and innovative chef.
