If you haven't been to The Winchester Restaurant & Bar just over the New Haven line in Woodbridge, you're really missing out. They've got some great eats (deviled eggs, lobster mac and cheese, pulled pork) and they keep their guests lubricated with an excellent drink menu. They're right across the street from New Haven Brewing Co., and across the parking lot with Amity Bowl. Very easy to "make a night of it" in this little cluster of awesome stuff to do on Selden Street.
This winter, The Winchester has fallen on hard times. In fact, they're in danger of closing for good, and they need our help. Saturday, March 23, Lucky Souls Productions is hosting a fundraiser that'll feature a handful of local musicians lending their support musically. As of right now, the line-up includes Steve Rodgers, Graylight Campfire, The Sawtelles, Tom McNulty and Butterfly Venom. Check out the event's Facebook page to let everyone know you're going and see the full line-up and any pertinent updates. If you can't make it out, you can donate via the Internets as well.
Rockin for The Winchester, March 23, 2 p.m., $15 suggested donation.
