If you've been looking to get some perspective on the state of Connecticut's local brews, but feel overwhelmed or just totally lost, head to Prime 16's Orange location on Wed., Oct 23 for a Connecticut tap takeover.
Prime 16 will devote 20 of its 30 taps to brews made right up and down the road. But you won't just be able to taste them. Some of the brewmasters themselves will be on hand to discuss their creations as you sip. The event will feature representatives from New England Brewing, Olde Burnside, Two Roads, City Steam, Stony Creek and many more.
Since some breweries don't offer their own tastings in-house, this is an opportunity to try many of the local beers you might've seen or heard of, the ones you know and love, and maybe a few surprises, without traveling up and down the state. While you're at it, order a burger, pizza or some wings so you don't get carried away. The tap takeover kicks off at 5 p.m., right in the middle of happy hour.
