An Honorable Feast: Supper with a Soldier at the Nathan Hale Homestead on July 27
If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to eat like a Revolutionary War soldier, you have the opportunity to find out this week at the Nathan Hale Homestead in Coventry. As part of Coventry's 300th birthday, participants can dine around a campfire on typical daily rations of beef or bacon, flour or cornmeal, and maybe beans or peas and some beer. Seatings are July 27 at 6 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, or $10 for Connecticut Landmarks members; Families of four are $45, or $30 for members. Reservations are required, call (860) 742-6917.
