When Taco Loco opened in 1982 exactly 30 years ago this Thursday, it was a one-man taco shop on Main Street in Bridgeport, the one man being owner Miguel Tomasio. In 1988, he expanded to the open road when by pruchasing a truck, the first taco truck in Connecticut. The business moved into its current location on Fairfield Ave. in Black Rock in 1989, just before the area's renaisance. Now Taco Loco employs a staff of thirty, and they consistently win the Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Margarita titles in our annual Best Of readers' poll. Go drink said margarita this Thursday night, on-the-rocks with salt, and toast to Tomasio and his family for three-decades of keeping us both well-fed and tipsy on tequilia.
