Photos: Ladies' Night at Blo in West Hartford

Last Thursday, September 13, a lucky number of participants who had RSVP'd through Facebook, Twitter, and EventBrite attended a completely free and utterly spectacular ladies' night at Blo in West Hartford. For anyone unfamiliar with Blo -- it's a dry bar -- they specialize in hair styling and nothing else. It's the perfect place to go and get an updo or spectacular bouncy curls for a big night out, which lent itself quite naturally to an evening featuring: hair curling, braiding, and dry styling by the Blo girls, as well as make up advice and demos from Erin McParland of ESPN. There were also cupcakes, candy, and lemonade for grabs for the ladies waiting in line for their services. All age groups were represented at this event, as evidenced by the pink carpet photos snapped by the talented Cheyney Barrieau outside of Blo.

The sugar and primping filled happy hour was the brain child of Dee Rivera and Allyson Spellman -- who together are DnA -- life coaches and authors who focus on both inner and outer beauty for their clients. They were onsite to greet guests and give information for another event that they will be hosting in November - a reinvention retreat at the Mayflower Inn & Spa. -Kat Iacobucci
