Joe Paterno's Greatest Off-the-Field Accomplishments
With Joe Paterno's passing this past weekend, you're going to hear the media talk a lot about Paterno's off-the-field legacy. Paterno certainly had his flaws, but he also did a lot of good things for his former players and his community. If you hear someone mention Joe's non-football legacy, this is what they're talking about.

Donations to Penn State University
Joe and his wife Sue personally donated $4 million dollars to Penn State, which among other things helped pay for the Penn State All-Sports Museum and the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center. The Paternos also famously helped raise over $13 million for a new library on campus (pictured). Paterno even donated $100,000 to the school in 2011, after he was fired.
