The New Haven Symphony Orchestra presents Tchaikovsky Triumphant, a musical triple-feature opening the NHSO's 120th season. First, the orchestra, led by music director William Boughton, will perform Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, a popular orchestral classic. Violin virtuoso Chad Hoopes will play Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto unaccompanied, followed at last by Theofanidis' Rex Tremendae Majestatis, performed by the NHSO and organist Thomas Murray. This is a rare opportunity to witness many talents sharing the same stage, and a must for fans of classical music.
