It's not really "unofficially" summer until Mystic Seaport hosts its Sea Music Festival. This year, the festival's 34th, the museum and other local venues will be full of the sounds of the sea from June 6-9. Performers featured at this year's festival include Jon Campbell, Geoff Kaufman, The S.S. Chanteens, Cliff Haslam (pictured), and Sasiedzi ("the Neighbors"), a group from Poland who keeps the country's love of sea music alive after it first emerged under Communism. Concerts at the Boat Shed are June 6-8 at 7 p.m. and June 9 at 3 p.m., as well as during the day scattered around the museum and grounds. The Music of the Sea Symposium Part 1 is June 7, 9 a.m. at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, McAllister Hall Auditorium (31 Mohegan Ave., New London), and Part 2 is June 8, 9:30 a.m. at Greenmanville Church. Visit mysticseaport.org for a full schedule and a full list of performers.
