David Jacobs-Strain Performs at The Outer Space on May 16
David Jacobs-Strain wears a lot of hats. The bluesman, adept at slide guitar and stories of melancholy, channels Delta folk heroes, beat politics, and contemporary anomie in his music. What else to expect from the man who cites Skip James, Nick Drake, and Elliot Smith as influences? Jacobs-Strain has put in time on the road, playing with the likes of Boz Scaggs, Etta James, Robert Earle Keen, Taj Mahal, and T-Bone Burnett, and held a faculty position at Centrum's Blues and Heritage workshop at the age of 15, so it's fair to say he knows his territory. Harmonica virtuoso Bob Beach and Casey Gorman will join Jacobs-Strain for his Outer Space debut, a CD release for his new one Geneseo.
