Don't think you need to waste your money flying out to California to go to Coachella in order to see a bunch of great bands in one day. All you need to do is go hang out at the Treadwell Street complex in Hamden this weekend, where all three of Steve Rodgers' venues play host to Fauxchella, an indie music fest to call our own. The Space, The Outer Space and the newly opened Spaceland Ballroom team up on April 20 to bring the music of 18 bands with local ties straight to your face. You can see Bear Hands, Ports of Spain, The Stepkids, The Files and Fires, The Guru, A Paper Tugboat and more, and it'll only run you $18 if you buy your tickets early.
Fauxchella Indie Music Festival
April 20, 3 p.m., $18, The Space/Outer Space/Spaceland Ballroom, 295 Treadwell St., Hamden, (203) 288-6400, thespacect.com.
