Aotearoa Plays Cafe Nine in New Haven on Jan. 16

Winter is just terrible. Everything is cold, sandy, wet, or a combination of these unpleasantries. This week Cafe Nine is heating up the dancefloor on Wednesday when dance-funk duo Aotearoa come through town. Say it with me: Ay-Oh-Tay-Uh-Row-Uh. The duo took their name from the M¿ori term for New Zealand, after hitchhiking through the islands in the winter of 2008. We suspect you'll feel like four limbs are not enough to shake around during their set.
