The Sea and Cake Play Arch Street Tavern in Hartford on Oct. 24
Chicago's The Sea and Cake (made up of members of Tortoise and other Chi-town bands) play mellow, ambling music, backed up with serious jazz chops and prepared electronics. The band (pictured) swings by the Arch Street Tavern in Hartford during their fall tour. The Sea and Cake are known for their tight execution in the studio as well as on stage, so expect good things at their live show. The band formed in 1994, and have since toured and recorded extensively (with the exception of a three-year hiatus from '04-'07). Their latest, 2012's Runner, is out on Thrill Jockey.
