Connecticut's own Sparkplug — organist Beau Sasser, drummer Bill Carbone, saxophonist Dave Davis and percussionist Jamemurrell Stanley — once backed legendary guitarist Melvin Sparks before his death a year ago, and since they've kept his brand of jazz-funk alive, recruiting top-notch guitarists to step in and fill Sparks' sizable shoes. This week's guests, Ryan Montbleau (pictured) and guitarist Lyle Brewer, absolutely blew everyone away during the Ryan Montbleau Band's mainstage performance at the Gathering of the Vibes two weeks ago.
