The Allmans and Santana, both longtime jazz-rock proponents of the "magic progression" (you'd recognize it if you've heard it), sidle their way over to the Comcast Theatre in Hartford for a great, patchouli-soaked outdoor show on Saturday. Only the dueling-drummer rhythm section of Butch Trucks and Jaimoe and Gregg (pictured) remain from the original Allmans, and who knows who Carlos has with him these days (but they're probably handy with the hands), but both acts are still top-notch, even as they enjoy their fourth decades of existence. Just listening to guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks carve their way through "Whipping Post" alone is worth the price of admission.
