Is it summer yet? Almost — by the stars and calendar. And almost, by our schedules (if we're lucky). But it hardly seems appropriately sweltering yet. If climate craziness conspired to deprive us of a winter this past season, few of us complained. Denying us beach weather is an entirely different story. We're ready for our fun in the sun. And we're going to have it, even if the sun doesn't come out to play. Each year, before the summer gets fully rolling, we like to compile a big list of summer festivals and fairs around the state. You'll find events spotlighting cars, live theater, ships, lobsters, jazz, jam bands, DIY art, antiques, and loads more. We hope this helps you jumpstart your own festive season. Go, get your beach blankets, sunscreen, summer reading lists, coolers and lawn chairs all in working order.
