Downtown Hartford Rocks for Newtown on Jan. 27
In the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, members of Hartford's restaurant/bar community and many of the area's musicians are uniting to present a one-day music festival on Sunday. The ticket price of $30 includes access to all venues, a signature cup and two drink tickets. A portion of ticket sales and 100 percent of signature cup proceeds will be donated to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund. More than 40 local musicians and bands, including the Alternate Roots, the McLovins and Echo & Drake will perform on nine stages situated in venues throughout Hartford. Jam scene veterans Max Creek and UHa roots-rockers Bronze Radio Return (pictured) will perform at the host venue, the Great Hall at Union Station, while other bands will perform at bars and venues such as Up or On The Rocks, Black Eyed Sally's and the Rocking Horse Saloon.
