We hadn't planned on surviving the Mayan-predicted end of the world last week, so we haven't yet firmed up plans for New Year's Eve. If you're in the same situation, we'd like to offer a few options at area bars in which there will be bands playing. Because, you know... we're into that whole live music thing. For the dancing festival-going type crowd, the Ryan Montbleau Band wraps up its two-show stint at StageOne, and the $62 ticket includes a champagne toast too. Or you could head up to Toad's Place in New Haven for some Dead covers with Shakedown, with a balloon drop, party favors, champagne and a continental breakfast. Two Boots hosts Bad Mojo while the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester welcomes the Funky Meters, featuring two members of the original Meters.
