Nicki Parrott is a bassist who once had a pretty sweet gig on Monday nights, as far as Monday night gigs go. She was bassist for none other than Les Paul himself (we wonder what kind of guitar he played) at his weekly residency at Iridium in New York City leading up to his death in 2009. Sunday she'll be at Pizzeria Lauretano in Bethel with her own quartet featuring Ken Gioffre on sax, Joe McWilliams on piano and Roger Post on drums. In the coming weeks the unlikely jazz hot spot will welcome Joe Meo and his baritone sax paying tribute to Gerry Mulligan (Sun., Nov. 18), the Marshall McDonald Trio (Sun., Nov. 25) and the Joe Stelluti Quartet (Sun., Dec. 2). Sunday evening shows always start at 6 p.m. and cost between $10 & $20. Pizzeria Lauretano, 291 Greenwood Ave., Bethel. (203) 797-1500, pizzerialauretano.com.
