Jerry Garcia is no longer with us, but the band he founded is still around. No, not that band. The Jerry Garcia Band is now led by Hammond B-3 player Melvin Seals, who joined the group in 1980. He took over the leadership reigns when Jerry died and shortened the name to JGB to avoid confusion regarding the loss of their mega-star frontman. They can still jam hella-hard though. Jerry once nicknamed Seals "Master of the Universe," in fact. See them this Sunday night at Fairfield Theatre's StageOne. Warning: Tickets are going fast for this one.
