Not many bands have won a Grammy for their debut record, but the Carolina Chocolate Drops did just that. Its 2010 album Genuine Negro Jig took the prize for Best Traditional Folk Album, an updated take on old-time fiddle and banjo music that proves that string-bands can and must coexist with high technology and a digitized landscape. See them Saturday night at the Quick Center for the Arts.
