Anders Osborne was born in Uddevalla, Sweden in 1966, the son of a popular touring jazz drummer who would collect jazz, R&B and early rock reel-to-reel recordings from his travels for his son to absorb. As a teen, Anders connected with Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Lowell George, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the like, but it was Robert Johnson's blues that really hit home and connected everything for him. Osborne lived the life of a nomad, hitchhiking around Europe, North Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East before arriving in the U.S. in 1985 with just $5 to his name. He hitched to New Orleans and has resided there ever since. He'll be at StageOne supporting his new album Black Eye Galaxy, a roots rock record that demonstrates all the influences from his colorful past.
