Umphrey's Mcgee is a jam band that doesn't fit into the tradtional mold of what we think of a jam band to be. They exhibit influences from a variety of genres, including prog, jazzy funk and even classical, and they're all melded together with improvisation. They rose to prominence in the college circuit, and thought they've got a handful of albums you can check out on Spotify, there's nothing like catching the live show.
