Our Picks: Tony Bennett and the Specials Each Play the Ives Concert Park
Tony Bennett is one of the great voices of all time. He got his big break in 1949 when Bob Hope caught his act, and he's been singing all over the world ever since. He's a living legend if ever there was one. The Specials (pictured) broke open the second wave of ska in England in 1977. Primary songwriter Jerry Dammers won't be there, but a whole bunch of the other original members will be (or long-time enough to be original members for our purposes), including Lynval Golding, Horace Panter, Terry Hall, John Bradbury and Roddy Radiation. See 'em both at Ives Concert Park this week. On separate nights.
