Guitarist Paul Kantner of Jefferson Starship is the only remnant of the band's original incarnation — '60s psychedelic rock pioneers Jefferson Airplane — who's still with the group. As the decades rolled by the band became more accessible and achieved greater commercial success, shortened their name to just Starship, replaced a bunch of members over a long period of time, and completely transformed into a pop entity. But the current version of the group has revisited its roots, leaning more toward the psychedelic electric folk than the '80s pop hits. See them at StageOne this Sunday night on Paul Kantner's 72nd birthday.
