It's still kind of a mystery to us how Unprepared took Best Punk, since they're not very punky. They're kind of more like a jam band with lazy, Jack Johnson-esque leanings. "I guess we'll have to play more punk!" says band member Joe Distin. The group is sifting through tracks right now for a debut LP, which they'll begin recording in October. "We played a lot over the summer, but now we're refining our material so we don't have to waste a lot of time in the studio," says Distin. "You don't wanna be bickering when you get there, like 'No no no, the solo goes here.'" Their next big show is the Wapping Fair in South Windsor, Friday, Sept. 9 from 7-10 p.m.
