If you hadn't heard, Real Art Ways has been hosting a film series called Science on Screen, a gathering for all those interested in the far reaches of science and fiction. Each event begins with a talk led by a different scientist on theories presented in the featured movie and ends with a showing of the film. Tuesday's film is Gattaca, a 1997 movie starring Ethan Hawke as an ambitious regular Joe and Jude Law and Uma Thurman as genetically-enhanced, take-it-all-for-granted types. The talk for the evening will be led by Dr. Gualberto Ruaño, who introduces the science behind DNA-guided medicine.
Science on Screen: Gattaca, Jan. 10, 7 p.m., $5-$10, Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor St., Hartford, (860) 232-1006, realartways.org.
