Documentaries like Food Inc., King Corn, Forks and Knives and Super Size Me have made streaming Netflix subscribers vastly more aware of what they should and shouldn't be eating. It turns out meat isn't as good for human consumption as once thought. Especially the way it's produced in the U.S. The film American Meat explains how the current industrial system has led to feedlots and confinement houses and will introduce us to farmers who went against the grain by starting grass-based farms. See it Saturday afternoon at Greenwich Audubon, followed by a discussion and reception.
Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Road, Greenwich. Sat., Jan. 28, 4 p.m. $15. (203) 869-5272 ext. 239, greenwich.audubon.org.
