Looking for an intellectual way to celebrate Veterans Day this year? Tonight, authors Kevin Moore and Don Morrow present their book Foresaken Heroes of the Pacific War: One Man's True Story, a biography of Major Albert Brown, at the New Haven Free Public Library. Until his death this year, at age 105, Brown was America's oldest surviving World War II veteran, and also the oldest survivor of the Bataan Death March in the Philippines in 1942. Sales of the book benefit various nonprofit organizations, including the Wounded Warriors Project.
Veterans Day Book Talk, Nov. 9, 6 p.m., free, New Haven Free Public Library, 133 Elm St., New Haven, (203) 946-8130.
