Valley Has a Heart Food Drive |
It's important not to forget that food pantries still need assistance after the holidays. This weekend, Area Congregations Together Inc. is hosting its Valley Has a Heart food drive to benefit Shelton's Spooner House. The goal is to collect enough food for two months, as well as $3,000 in donations to help refill the shelves as needed. Donations may be dropped off at the Stop & Shop locations in Ansonia (100 Division St.), Seymour (15 Franklin St.) and Shelton (898 Bridgeport Ave.) on Sat., Feb. 11 and Sun., Feb. 12, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The most-needed items include canned meats and vegetables, canned or powdered milk, soups, juices, condiments and more.
